item+ ist ein Open-Source-System für Inventory & Collection Management. Hier steht kurz und klar, welche Daten auf itemplus.app und in der item+ iOS App eine Rolle spielen.
1. Wer hier verantwortlich ist
Die iOS App und die öffentliche Website itemplus.app werden von Oliver Cermann bereitgestellt.
Wenn du item+ mit einem selbstgehosteten Server nutzt, ist der Betreiber dieses Servers für die dort gespeicherten und verarbeiteten Daten verantwortlich. Der Entwickler der App betreibt keine zentrale item+ Cloud für App-Nutzer.
2. Was auf dieser Website passiert
Diese Landing Page nutzt keine Analyse-Tools, keine Werbe-SDKs und keine eigenen Cookies für Tracking oder Marketing.
Diese Seite wird über GitHub Pages ausgeliefert. Wie bei fast jeder Website können dabei technische Server-Logs anfallen, etwa mit IP-Adresse, Zeitpunkt, aufgerufener URL, Browser-Informationen und HTTP-Status. Das dient der Bereitstellung und dem sicheren Betrieb der Seite.
3. Externe Inhalte auf der Landing Page
Die Landing Page bindet aktuell einige externe Ressourcen ein:
- das Tailwind-CDN für das Styling der statischen Seite
- GitHub Raw für Produkt-Screenshots
Beim Laden dieser Ressourcen und beim Ausliefern der Seite über GitHub Pages wird deine IP-Adresse technisch an die beteiligten GitHub-Dienste übermittelt.
4. Welche Daten die iOS App braucht
Je nach Nutzung kann die item+ iOS App folgende Daten an den item+ Server senden, den du oder deine Organisation eingerichtet haben:
- deinen Account-Namen und deine E-Mail-Adresse bei der Anmeldung
- Authentifizierungsdaten, die für eine aktive Sitzung notwendig sind
- Fotos, die du für Item-Anhänge oder KI-unterstützte Erfassung aufnimmst
- Fotometadaten inklusive genauer GPS-Position, wenn du beim Fotografieren den Standort freigibst
- Barcode-, QR-Code-, Item-, Standort- und Sitzungsaktionen, die du in der App auslöst
- Statusdaten der Druck-Brücke, damit gemeldet werden kann, ob das verbundene iPhone den konfigurierten Labeldrucker gerade erreichen kann
5. Wofür diese Daten da sind
Die App nutzt diese Daten nur für die eigentlichen Funktionen von item+, zum Beispiel für:
- deine Anmeldung
- die Verbindung zu deinem konfigurierten item+ Server
- das Öffnen von Item- und Standortdetails
- das Senden von Scans, Fotos und Bestätigungen an die WebApp
- lokalen Labeldruck über das iPhone, wenn die Druck-Brücke eingerichtet ist
6. Keine Werbung, kein Tracking
item+ verwendet in der iOS App keine Werbe-SDKs, keine Analyse-SDKs und kein app-übergreifendes Tracking.
7. Kamera, lokales Netzwerk und Standort
Die App fragt nur das an, was für ihre Funktionen gebraucht wird:
- Kamera zum Scannen von QR-Codes und Barcodes sowie zum Aufnehmen von Item-Fotos
- Lokales Netzwerk zum Erreichen selbstgehosteter item+ Server oder lokaler Labeldrucker
- Standort, wenn du Fotos mit eingebetteten GPS-Metadaten aufnehmen möchtest
8. Was lokal bleibt und was auf dem Server liegt
Lokal auf dem Gerät speichert die App nur wenige Konfigurationsdaten, zum Beispiel die Server-URL, den ausgewählten Realm, die Sprache, die Fotoqualität und optionale lokale Drucker-Einstellungen.
Inhaltsdaten wie Items, Benutzerkonten, hochgeladene Fotos und Ausleihvorgänge liegen auf dem konfigurierten item+ Server, nicht in einer zentralen item+ Cloud des App-Entwicklers.
9. Keine Weitergabe an Werbenetzwerke
Die App verkauft keine personenbezogenen Daten und gibt keine App-Daten an Werbenetzwerke oder Datenhändler weiter.
Sie kommuniziert nur mit dem item+ Server, den du selbst konfiguriert und verwendet hast.
10. Was du selbst steuern kannst
Du entscheidest selbst, ob du Kamera-, lokales Netzwerk- und Standortzugriff erlaubst. Diese Berechtigungen kannst du jederzeit in den iOS Einstellungen ändern.
Wenn du einen selbstgehosteten item+ Server nutzt, müssen Anfragen zu Kontodaten, gespeicherten Fotos, Export, Berichtigung oder Löschung durch den Betreiber dieses Servers bearbeitet werden.

item+ is an open-source inventory and collection management system. This page keeps things short and direct and explains which data matters on itemplus.app and in the item+ iOS app.
1. Who is responsible here
The iOS app and the public website itemplus.app are provided by Oliver Cermann.
If you use item+ with your own self-hosted server, the operator of that server is responsible for the data stored and processed on that server. The developer of the app does not operate a central hosted item+ cloud for app users.
2. What happens on this website
This landing page does not use analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or its own cookies for tracking or marketing.
This site is served through GitHub Pages. Like almost any website, that may still create technical server logs, for example with IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser information, and HTTP status. That is used to deliver the site and keep it running safely.
3. External content on the landing page
The landing page currently loads a few external resources:
- the Tailwind CDN for styling the static page
- GitHub Raw for product screenshots
Loading these resources and serving the site through GitHub Pages technically shares your IP address with the GitHub services involved.
4. What data the iOS app needs
Depending on how you use the app, item+ may send the following data to the item+ server that you or your organization set up:
- your account name and email address during sign-in
- authentication data required to keep your session active
- photos you capture for item attachments or AI-assisted item lookup
- photo metadata, including precise GPS location, if you allow location access while taking a photo
- barcode, QR code, item, location, and session-related actions you trigger inside the app
- printer bridge status data needed to report whether the connected iPhone can currently reach the configured label printer
5. What that data is used for
The app uses this data only for the actual functionality of item+, including:
- signing you in
- connecting to your configured item+ server
- opening item and location details
- sending scans, photos, and confirmations to the web app
- bridging local label printing through the iPhone when configured
6. No advertising, no tracking
item+ does not use third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking in the iOS app.
7. Camera, local network, and location
The app only asks for what its features actually need:
- camera access to scan QR codes and barcodes and to capture item photos
- local network access to reach self-hosted item+ servers or local label printers on your network
- location access when you capture photos and want GPS metadata embedded in the image
8. What stays local and what lives on the server
The app stores only a small amount of configuration data locally on your device, such as the configured server URL, selected realm, language, photo quality, and optional local printer settings.
Content data such as items, user accounts, uploaded photos, and checkout activity lives on the configured item+ server, not in a central item+ cloud operated by the app developer.
9. No sharing with ad networks
The app does not sell personal data and does not share app data with advertising networks or data brokers.
It only communicates with the item+ server you configure and use.
10. What you control yourself
You control whether you provide camera access, local network access, and location access. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
If you use a self-hosted item+ server, requests related to account data, stored photos, export, correction, or deletion must be handled by the operator of that server.
